Polk County granted extension to review tax appeals
Polk County has been granted a July 15 extension to complete the property tax assessment appeal process. The extension will give the county’s board of review more time to complete the review of appeals filed by taxpayers in response to recent property tax assessments, the Iowa Department of Revenue said in a release. Under state law, local boards of review receive appeals by May 5 of each assessment year and complete appeal reviews by May 31, but may request extensions up to July 15.
