Power Fund approves wind turbine award
Funding approved by the Iowa Power Fund Board will help Clipper Windpower Inc. construct and install a prototype wind turbine in Iowa that is designed to be used at low wind speed sites. Clipper, which received an award of nearly $2.3 million, will create jobs at its Cedar Rapids manufacturing facility to produce turbines designed to operate in light winds. A prototype installation is scheduled for 2012.
