Principal Financial Group has received recertification status as a Platinum Well Workplace by the Wellness Council of America through the Wellness Council of Iowa.

Larry Zimpleman, chairman, president and CEO of the company, said that in order for the company to be successful it needs the brightest employees performing at their peak, and pointed to health and wellness as a major factor in the company’s future success.

The Well Workplace award recognizes companies with have implemented and demonstrated measurable success in employee wellness programming. he Platinum levelis the highest level awarded.

“As a health improvement company – providing employers both health insurance and employee wellness programs – we’re aware of the very real bottom line impact wellness programs have on an organization,” Zimpleman said in a release.

Principal has been recognized by the council each of the more than 15 years it has administered the certification. The company will be presented the award during a recognition banquet on Oct. 1.
