Principal Charity Classic sets sixth consecutive fundraising record

143 wordsAll Latest News, Arts and CultureThe 2015 Principal Charity Classic has generated a record $1,402,487 for Central Iowa children’s charities, the sixth consecutive year the tournament has broken the previous year’s record for dollars raised. Sponsored by the Principal Financial Group and presented by Wells Fargo, the tournament has generated more than $7.7 million over its nine-year history.
Donations from the 2015 tournament will be distributed to five “FORE Our Kids” charities, as well as 130 Birdies for Charity organizations. The five “FORE Our Kids” charities are Blank Children’s Hospital, BRAVO Greater Des Moines, The Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines (tournament host organization), United Way of Central Iowa and Variety-the Children’s Charity of Iowa.
Principal also announced a renewed a three-year agreement to remain the title sponsor of the Principal Charity Classic presented by Wells Fargo, teeing up a continued benefit to children’s charities in Central Iowa.
