Principal Financial Group celebrates 10 years of being public
Principal Financial Group Inc. President and CEO Larry Zimpleman will ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) this afternoon to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the company’s initial public offering and the first trading of its shares.
The company started trading on the NYSE on Oct. 23, 2001, which made it the first U.S. company to go public after 9/11 terrorist attacks. Over the past decade, the company’s customer base has grown from 13 million customers to more than 16 million customers worldwide.
Principal will also give donations to programs that support the families of the New York Police Department and the Fire Department of New York to celebrate its anniversary.
