The Principal Financial Group Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to the Des Moines Public Library Foundation for the Technology Fund Campaign. The grant will help with the purchase of new computers for the nearly 200,000 adults and children accessing the public computers at all six Des Moines Public Library locations. In announcing the grant, Georgia Van Gundy, director of government and community relations at Principal Financial Group, said, “This project helps support the financial stability of individuals as well as our community, which are two critical areas we focus our efforts on through the Principal Financial Group Foundation.” The library foundation’s Technology Fund Campaign goal is to raise $500,000, said Dory Briles, executive director.
