JetChoice LLC, a private membership jet service based in St. Paul, Minn., has opened a hangar at Des Moines International Airport.

Membership, with fees geared primarily for corporations and the wealthy, is purchased in blocks of time over a three-year contract and provides access to a fleet of Dassault Falcon and Gulfstream G200 jets. In addition, JetChoice offers management services for aircraft owners.

JetChoice provides the same jet to each member for every flight. However, members can select a jet of choice with eight-hours notice. Membership fees approximate the cost of purchasing a private jet.

In addition to St. Paul and Des Moines, JetChoice also has hubs in Houston and Phoenix.

JetChoice was founded in 2003 by Dave Kloeber, who owns and operates more than 50 companies, including home builders, golf courses, retail shops, malls, a restaurant chain and a diamond mine.

Kloeber said during a recent reception at the JetChoice hub in Des Moines that he established the service after a bad experience in 2002 on a commercial flight to Mexico.
