Automatic Data Processing Inc. (ADP), a human resources and payroll processing business, released its National Employment Report for June this morning showing an increase.

In May, ADP reported an increase of 136,000 jobs. The Labor Department will release data tomorrow showing its estimate of how many private- and public-sector jobs the U.S. added in June. 

Economists surveyed by Bloomberg estimate that 90,000 jobs were added in June, an increase of about 21,000 from the May adjusted rate. 

Even though economists predict more jobs were added in June than in May, hiring in the U.S. during the second quarter is still on track to be about half of the amount added in the first quarter, according to Bloomberg.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics also announced today that the number of people filing initial claims for unemployment benefits fell by 14,000, which is the biggest drop in six weeks. The less volatile four-week moving average dropped by about 2,000.
