Several Iowa youths who spent time in foster care will have a chance to tell their stories Friday at an event with U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley and child welfare leaders in Des Moines. The event, hosted by Casey Family Programs, will be held in the Recital Hall at the Temple for Performing Arts, 1011 Locust St., from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The forum will examine the impacts of the recent Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act and the Senate Caucus on Foster Youth, co-chaired by Grassley, as well as ongoing efforts to reform the federal financing of child welfare. Registration for the free event begins at 9:30 a.m.
