RDG Planning & Design has received an urban besign award from the Iowa chapter of the American Planning Association for its master plan of Hubbell Realty Co.’s Gray’s Station neighborhood, which is under construction south of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway between Southwest 11th and Southwest 16th streets. The 75-acre development features large green spaces, conversion of stormwater retaining ponds to a conservation area and a mix of housing options that could boost the downtown population by at least 1,000 people. The project abuts the Gray’s Landing development. RDG also received the association’s Economic Development Planning award for its work on the Spencer Riverfront Plan. Read more about the plan.
