Ready for that big snow or the apocalypse?
Is Iowa ready for an emergency?
On a 10-point scale, Iowa scores a 6, says a report released today. The 10th annual Ready or Not? Protecting the Public from Diseases, Disasters, and Bioterrorism report was released today by the nonprofit advocacy group Trust for America’s Health and the philanthropy health organization Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
The report is designed to provide a snapshot of the nation’s public health emergency preparedness, looking at factors such as funding commitment for public health programs, response readiness and preparation for extreme weather.
Only 15 states scored higher than 6 out of 10. To see the report’s results on Iowa, clickhere.
