REG: Geismar plant will be down for up to four months
Renewable Energy Group Inc. now estimates that its Geismar, La. plant will be out of production for two to four months after a fire on April 2 that injured two employees, who are recovering. REG reported that preliminary inspections showed damage to a limited area. The plant will move up its scheduled monthlong maintenance shutdown to get a variety of work done on the plant during the fire recovery. Loadouts for the renewable hydrocarbon diesel produced at the plant are expected to resume later this week.
