April 17 – Research symposium – Iowa State University students will present more than 100 research projects during the sixth annual Symposium on Undergraduate Research and Creative Expression. The symposium will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m in the Memorial Union on the ISU campus. The event is free and open to the public. April 18 – Ag symposium – “Agricultural Biotechnology Regulation, Trade and Coexistence,” held by Iowa State University’s Biosafety Institute for Genetically Modified Agricultural Products, will welcome experts from industry, government and academia to discuss the role of regulation in biotechnology and genetically modified agriculture production. May 16 – Environmental awards luncheon – The Center on Sustainable Communities, Metro Waste Authority and the Greater Des Moines Partnership will honor five organizations and one individual with Environmental Impact Awards at a luncheon May 16 at the Des Moines Botanical & Environmental Center.
