Researchers look into affordable housing
Several Iowa State University community and regional planning faculty members are studying Polk County’s supply of affordable, low-income housing.
The research, funded by a $68,183 grant from the Polk County Housing Trust, is intended to determine whether the current supply of affordable housing matches the existing need.
The research team will look at the supply of affordable housing, how affordability is affected when considered within the context of other urban systems such as transportation and education, and barriers preventing low-income households from accessing affordable housing.
