101 wordsAll Latest News, Arts and Culture, EducationFormer astronaut Peggy Whitson, a space and science consultant, will be the afternoon keynote speaker for the governor’s 2019 Future Ready Iowa Summit titled “STEM Education + Workplace Partnerships.” The statewide event on April 30 at the Iowa Events Center is open to the public, and will also include remarks by Gov. Kim Reynolds, Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg and Pallavi Verma, senior managing director, U.S.-Midwest, for Accenture. Reynolds will announce the names of six high-poverty elementary schools selected to receive a total of $300,000 in grants ($50,000 each) through the Computer Science is Elementary Project.
