RSM US LLP’s Des Moines office partnered with Roosevelt High School and Hubbell Elementary for its annual Volunteer Day, held on Aug. 1. RSM closed down its office for the day to help with a range of projects at the schools, including painting, landscaping, classroom organization and stocking the food pantry. Their efforts translated into $21,250 in grant funding through RSM US Foundation’s “Dollars for Doers” program, which rewards volunteer hours with direct financial support to the schools. The selection of schools is a collaborative effort between RSM and the Des Moines Public Schools District Community Coordinator, who begins planning in early spring to identify schools with the capacity and need for a full day of volunteer support. The initiative is part of RSM’s nationwide “Power of Love” campaign, which runs from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30.
