Samantha Mosser will become president of Bankers Trust on Aug. 1, the bank announced today. Mosser currently is Bankers Trust’s Nebraska president, a position she’s held since February 2022.

“One of the most important responsibilities I have as a leader is to help ensure our success continues,” Don Coffin, Bankers Trust’s president and CEO, said in a prepared statement. “Our ability to promote from within is a testament to the strength and depth of our leadership team. Samantha’s appointment, along with several recent executive committee promotions, reflects our confidence in the next generation of leaders and honors the legacy built by our longer-serving team members.”

Coffin will continue to serve as Bankers Trust CEO, setting the strategic direction of the organization. Others in Bankers Trust’s leadership team includes Emily Abbas, Scott Eltjes, Tina Smith Fritz and Todd Wishman.

Mosser will relocate to Des Moines and plans to quickly get involved in the community, according to a news release. Mosser’s community involvement in Omaha includes serving on the boards for Children’s Nebraska Hospital, Omaha Chamber of Commerce, Child Savings Institute and United Way Campaign Cabinet.

Mosser “brings a strong track record of leadership, industry insight, and a deep commitment to our values,” John Ruan IV, chairman of Bankers Trust’s board, said in a prepared statement. “With Don continuing to lead as CEO, this allows for continuity at the top while positioning the bank for long-term success.”

Mosser previously was president and a board member of ACCESSbank in Omaha and the Omaha president of Union Bank & Trust, according to her LinkedIn profile.

“I have deep respect for the foundation that has been built and am committed to leading with the same values of trust, service, and innovation that have guided us for years,” Mosser said in a prepared statement. “As we look to the future, I’m excited to work alongside our talented team to continue growing stronger, serving our clients and communities, and building on our legacy.”

Since 1917, Bankers Trust has been a leading financial institution for commercial and consumer banking services. The company, headquartered in Des Moines, is Iowa’s largest privately held community bank, with $7 billion in assets.
