SBA backed 444 loans totaling $169 million in Iowa
The U.S. Small Business Administration guaranteed 444 loans totaling $134.9 million in the year that ended Sept. 30, part of loan packages that totaled a combined $169.8 million. That was up from the previous year’s 440 loans totaling $149.6 million that supported $200.8 million in lending. The 444 loans approved by the SBA in fiscal year 2015 created 1,563 jobs in Iowa and retained an additional 3,015 jobs. Nationally, the SBA approved 69,247 loans totaling $27.8 billion that supported $33.2 billion in lending to small businesses.
