SBA backs 15 loans for Central Iowa businesses in December

217 wordsAll Latest News, Economic DevelopmentThe U.S. Small Business Administration backed 15 private loans worth a combined $7.4 million in December for projects that created a combined 125 jobs and retained 167.
Among the largest loans were:
- $3.25 million for site preparation contractors J & K Contracting LLC of Ames, which plans to create 50 jobs and to retain 52.
- $1.1 million for Shade Tree Auto LLC repair shop in Grimes, which will create four jobs and retain five.
- $650,000 for Premier Bowling & Entertainment’s new operation in Pleasant Hill, which has 23 positions.
- $535,000 for Webster Works LLC of Runnells, a florist which plans to create eight jobs and keep two.
- $500,000 for Navigate Wellness LLC of Des Moines, a new business with nine positions.
- $200,000 for Men’s Style Lab, Des Moines, which plans to create three new jobs and keep 10.
- $150,000 or E-Giants Technology LLC of West Des Moines, which will create 30 jobs and keep 32.
The loans involved businesses in Polk, Story, Boone, Dallas, Madison, Warren, Marion, Jasper and Marshall counties.
Statewide, the SBA backed 37 loans for $14,338,200 to Iowa businesses from participating lenders using its two largest lending programs.
