Simpson College begins search for interim president

Simpson College announced it has begun its search for an interim president after former President Jay Byers died April 17. A specific search timeline has not been established, but the Simpson board of trustees expects to have an interim president in place for the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year, the announcement said. Terry Handley will continue to serve as Simpson’s acting president until an interim president is appointed. “Our intent is to move forward with both prudence and expediency,” said Terry Lillis, acting chair of Simpson’s board of trustees. “We will leverage our extensive network of contacts to identify strong candidates who would be best positioned to lead Simpson through this challenging time of transition.”
