Small business groups start campaign to hire young U.S. workers
The U.S. Small Business Administration and Small Business Majority are starting a campaign to help reduce persistently high unemployment among young workers, by encouraging small businesses to hire them. The companies participating in the national sign-on campaign pledge to take actions including increasing the number of youth hires within their company, expanding full- or part-time internships, or providing mentorship opportunities. The program seeks to match 6.7 million young Americans who are out of school and out of work with small businesses who need to fill key entry-level positions.
