Springfield Plastics launches annual fundraiser for cancer research

113 wordsAll Latest News, Health and Wellness, Manufacturing, Nonprofits and PhilanthropySpringfield Plastics has launched its annual Drain for the Cure campaign to support cancer research, prevention and treatment at the John Stoddard Cancer Center in Des Moines as well as the Simmons Cancer Institute in Springfield, Ill., and the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center in Indianapolis. Started in 2014, the fundraiser has generated more than $1 million to date, including over $182,000 last year, with a goal to exceed that amount this October. The company will match all donations received throughout the month up to $65,000. Contributions will benefit patient care, clinical research and therapy programs through the participating institutions. For more information or to donate, click here.
