State aid for Heinz upgrade
The state of Iowa on Thursday awarded the H.J. Heinz Co. direct incentives of $100,000 and refundable investment tax credits for a proposed $10.9 million upgrade to the Heinz soup plant in southwest Cedar Rapids, the Cedar Rapids Gazette reported.
The project would create about 31 jobs, according to the Iowa Department of Economic Development.
