State gives environment awards to Fourmile, Blank Park Zoo
This year’s recipients of the state’s Environmental Excellence Awards include the Blank Park Zoo and the Fourmile Creek Watershed Management Authority in Des Moines. “The vision and initiatives undertaken by the award recipients to benefit Iowa’s citizens both economically and environmentally are recognized and celebrated through these awards,” said Gov. Terry Branstad, who will present awards to the Des Moines organizations and 10 others from around the state at 3 p.m. Aug. 4 in the Capitol Rotunda.
