State grocery association accepting applications for Build with Bags grant program
The Iowa Grocery Industry Association is currently accepting application for its annual Build with Bags grant program. Through the program, the association will allocate $40,000 in grant funding to schools and parks in Iowa as an incentive for communities to increase plastic bag recycling efforts. In the past five years the grant program has donated almost $178,000 to more than 100 schools and parks statewide to purchase recycled plastic equipment and furniture. Details on how to apply, as well as selection criteria, can be found online. The deadline to apply is March 30.
