State of Iowa Youth Advisory Council, Iowa Youth Congress accepting applications

87 wordsAll Latest News, Government Policy and LawTwo youth advocacy groups from the Department of Health and Human Services, the State of Iowa Youth Advisory Council (SIYAC) and Iowa Youth Congress (IYC), are accepting applications for the 2024-25 term. As one of the 21 youth members of SIYAC, participants will advocate for youth issues with policymakers. In the year-long IYC program, up to 100 Iowa high school students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on education in the subject areas of state government, democracy, advocacy and civic engagement. Applications for both programs close June 1.
