State tech chief Ted Crosbie dies
Ted Crosbie, a retired Monsanto seed executive and Iowa’s chief technology officer, died Saturday after becoming ill July 1 while on vacation at Lake of the Ozarks, according to The Des Moines Register. Crosbie, 65, fell ill July 1 from what his son, Jon Crosbie, a family practice physician, described as “an assault on his lungs. It was very fast, very sudden and very shocking.” Gov. Tom Vilsack first appointed Crosbie as the state’s chief technology officer. He and his wife, Rowena, president of Tero International, lived on a farm near Earlham. Services will be held at the World Food Prize headquarters in Des Moines.Hamilton’s funeral home in West Des Moines is handling arrangements.
