State to fund biofuels education
The Iowa Office of Energy Independence (OEI) announced it will make $250,000 in grants available to stimulate the use of biofuels in the state. The funding is being made available through Iowa’s portion of the State Energy Program under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Through this funding, OEI will spearhead an effort with Iowa organizations to initiate a campaign through public awareness, market incentives and education that will support creating a market for mid- and high-blend ethanol that can be dispensed from blender pumps.
