STEM Advisory Council to meet Wednesday at DMACC in Ankeny

The governor’s STEM Advisory Council will meet Wednesday at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and to the media. Yoshisuke Kumano from Shizuoka University in Japan will talk about the five best STEM practices he has observed during his tour of Iowa and other U.S. states actively involved in STEM education. The rest of the meeting will highlight the expansion of the STEM BEST (Businesses Engaging Students and Teachers) model, the latest Iowa STEM evaluation report released in August and a facilitated discussion about STEM Council member priorities.
