Strategic partnership adds Lyft rides to insurer’s travel coverage
Travel insurer Generali Global Assistance today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with ride-hailing company Lyft to add Lyft rides as part of its suite of travel insurance services. Generali Global, which operates its own travel insurance unit, also has more than 50 top accident, health, property and casualty insurers among its clients. The partnership with Lyft will help ensure more effective and efficient covered transports for insured and corporate travelers with less travel interruption and higher productivity for travelers, Generali said in a release. Generali CEO Chris Carnicelli said the partnership is “merely the tip of the iceberg in terms of our plans to integrate Lyft’s services across our business lines.” For example, Lyft already has an integration with CareLinx, a leading digital marketplace that provides in-home care services for seniors, which Generali recently acquired.
