United Way of Central Iowa and 13 corporate partners launch the second annual Stuff the Bus book drive today, with the goal of filling a bus with gently used school books by May 5. The books will be donated to early learning centers and home providers supported by United Way Women’s Leadership Connection. Books may be dropped off at United Way of Central Iowa, 1111 Ninth St., Des Moines, or at donors’ workplaces if they work for one of the participating companies: Aviva USA, Bankers Trust Co., Delta Dental of Iowa, FBL Financial Group Inc., Holmes Murphy & Associates Inc., Hubbell Realty Co., Meredith Corp., Nyemaster Goode P.C., ITAGroup Inc., Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc., Principal Financial Group Inc., United Parcel Service Inc. and Wells Fargo & Co. On May 5, the books will be collected in a school bus parked at the Aviva parking lot at 7700 Mills Civic Parkway, West Des Moines.
