Sussman Lecture to feature NASA historian Bill Barry
The Nov. 1 Sussman Lecture will feature NASA’s chief historian, Bill Barry. Barry joined NASA in 2001 and became its chief historian in September 2010. Before that, he served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force and taught at the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has a doctorate from the University of Oxford. The space program is marking its 60th anniversary. The Harkin Institute for Public Policy & Citizen Engagement stages the lecture, which is free and open to the public, but you need to register. The Sussman Lecture was established by Drake University alumnus Richard Sussman in memory of his wife, Lila, and is held twice a year.
