Taxpayers Association event to talk the role of libraries in the 21st century
Local libraries face financial pressures, but they also have unique opportunities to adapt and reinvent themselves in a digital age. This will be the topic of discussion at Taxpayers Association of Central Iowa’s event, “Ideas in Action: The Role of Libraries in the 21st Century.” Greg Heid, director of Des Moines Public Libraries, and Kim Kietzman, Altoona’s library director, will share their stories of how libraries are surviving and thriving in 2015. The event will be held April 9 4:45-6 p.m. at Wakonda Club. The event is free to attend. Register online here.
