Telligen Community Initiatives recently awarded 10 grants totaling $440,663 to nonprofit organizations in Iowa, including seven Greater Des Moines-based organizations. The West Des Moines-based charitable foundation received a record 128 grant requests for its 2016 Iowa grant cycle. TCI broadly supports projects in the areas of health innovation, health care workforce development and access to care for the underserved. Among organizations receiving the maximum $50,000 grant was the American Heart Association Midwest Affiliate, for expansion of a stroke data collection and reporting program for rural hospitals.
