TMG Insurance Services, also known as the Mutual Group, announced Peter Houston has been appointed chief growth officer and head of corporate development. Houston brings expertise in the mutual insurance sector and 15 years of insurance transaction and advisory experience to the Mutual Group, based in West Des Moines. In this newly created role, Houston will lead the Mutual Group’s acquisition and growth strategy. The company, a Bain Capital Insurance portfolio company provides underwriting, claims, corporate services and technology services to mutual insurance carriers. “Peter brings a proven track record of successfully advising on numerous transactions involving mutuals and specialty P&C carriers and firsthand experience working with and advising mutual insurance company boards,” the Mutual Group CEO Tim Fleming said in a statement. “His industry expertise, broad network of relationships and deep understanding of complex insurance deals will be invaluable as we accelerate our growth and strengthen our impact in the industry. We are excited to welcome Peter to the team.”
