Three Dallas County communities to receive technical assistance
Dallas Center, Van Meter and Woodward have been selected to receive technical assistance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities program. The three communities are among 56 nationwide that will receive assistance through the program, which is a partnership of several federal agencies to coordinate federal services. With assistance from EPA-funded private-sector experts, the communities will focus on a specific development tool, such as improving pedestrian access and safety, green infrastructure, or economic and fiscal health assessment. Communities will also learn about other strategies for development that can improve the environment and the economy.
