Women Lead Change has announced Mary Armbrecht, Susan Clark and Ann Hutchinson as recipients of the 2025 Iowa Women of Achievement Award, which honors historical Iowa women for their significant and lasting contributions. Armbrecht was the state’s first sworn female police officer and detective, Clark paved the way for school desegregation in Iowa through a landmark 1868 court case and Hutchinson served as mayor of Bettendorf and a community leader for over a decade. Permanent plaques for the honorees will be placed on the Iowa Women of Achievement Bridge in Des Moines and an awards luncheon will be held during the Women Lead Change Conference on Oct. 15 at the Iowa Events Center.
