The Civic Center of Greater Des Moines ranked 17th in the Jan. 11 edition of Pollstar magazine’s annual list of the top 100 worldwide theater venues. The rankings are based on ticket sales and place the Civic Center ahead of all other Midwest theaters, according to a news release. The Civic Center reported ticket sales of 208,645 last year.   Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional theater ranked first in the annual listing, followed by New York City’s Radio City Music Hall and Atlanta’s Fox Theatre.

Iowa Credit Union League President and CEO Patrick Jury has been elected to the Credit Union National Association board of directors. He is filling an unexpired term and will serve through the association’s 2012 annual general meeting. Jury has served as the leader of Iowa Credit Union League since 2006, and has worked at the organization for more than 20 years.

Former Gov. Terry Branstad will kick off another gubernatorial campaign at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the State Historical Building, 600 E. Locust St., Des Moines. Over the following four days, he will have events in 16 other cities.
