Iowa Telecommunications Services, Inc.’s board of directors declared a quarterly dividend of 4.05 cents per share on common stock, the company announced today. The dividend is payable on Oct. 15 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Sept. 30. See the full release.

Casey’s General Stores Inc. reported a same-store sales rise of 6.4 percent in its fiscal first quarter, which ended July 31, thanks to better gasoline margins, Zacks Investment Research reported today. According to Zacks, Casey’s has beaten estimates in two of the last four quarters by an average of 17.5 percent. U.S. sales of individual life insurance dropped 20 percent in the second quarter, while year-to-date sales declined 23 percent, according to a report by A.M. Best Co., a global financial services rating agency. The decline represents the steepest six-month drop in nearly 70 years.

Bank of America Corp. said credit-card defaults increased in August, Reuters reported today. The number of loans that the bank does not expect to be repaid rose to 14.54 percent in August from 13.81 percent in July.
