Minnesota-based Toro Co. announced today it will team with Ryan Companies US Inc. to build a 450,000-square-foot distribution center in Ankeny. Toro, which manufactures a variety of lawn and turf equipment for contractors and residential users, said it will lease the structure from Ryan when it is completed later this year and move distribution operations from current facilities in Lakeville, Minn., and Beatrice, Neb. The new location will primarily distribute Toro and Exmark-branded equipment to distributors, dealers and the Home Depot Inc. stores in the United States and Canada, the company said. It is expected to employ 20 people.
