No planes were coming in and going out this morning at Des Moines International Airport, but Don Smithey, the airport’s executive director, said crews have cleared the main runway and accompanying taxiways so that flights can land if necessary. Smithey said it’s now up to the airlines to determine whether they will be flying. The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) said that bus service will begin at 11:45 a.m. The Iowa Department of Transportation said that travel is not advised this morning.
