U.S. News & World Report magazine released its Best Colleges 2013 rankings yesterday. A roundup of the three state universities and Drake University:

• The University of Iowa ranked No. 28 among the nation’s public universities, unchanged from last year. It ranked No. 72 in the Best National Universities category, which includes public and private colleges. That is virtually unchanged from No. 71 a year ago.
• Iowa State University ranked No. 46 in the national public universities category, compared with No. 44 a year ago. It was No. 101 in the Best National Universities category, down from No. 97 in 2012.
• The University of Northern Iowa was No. 22 on the list of Midwest regional universities. It was No. 2 in the category of best Midwest regional public universities.
• Drake University was No. 3 on the list of Midwest regional universities, which is the same ranking it had in 2012.
