UI launches Parkinson’s study with Michael J. Fox Foundation

That work will look into whether a drug approved for leukemia cases could help those with Parkinson’s. Georgetown University has found some promise. The latest study, led by Northwestern University, will be bigger.
A University of Iowa center will handle statistical analysis, with biostatistian Chelsea Caspell leading the effort.
Fox, an actor known for his “Back to the Future” movies, announced in 1999 he has Parkinson’s. He has worked to improve treatment.
