Things go missing — keys, sunglasses, odd socks, baryonic matter and computer passwords. With the help of a NASA grant, University of Iowa professor Phil Kaaret and his students might be able to solve one of those mysteries, reports the University of Iowa. Kaaret, students and research assistants will launch the satellite HaloSat to search for the missing baryonic matter on Sunday, thanks to $3.7 million granted by NASA to fund the project in March 2015. HaloSat’s launch will be livestreamed on NASA’s website, while Kaaret and his team will witness the launch from a rocket at Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. No word yet on when Kaaret and his lab will turn attention to your sock-eating laundry machine.
