Unemployment claims up, moving average down
The U.S. Department of Labor today said initial claims for unemployment benefits rose by 2,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 366,000.
The four-week moving average for new claims dropped by 5,500 to 363,750, which is the lowest since March and second-lowest since April 2008.
