Unemployment rate stays the same in October
Iowa’s unemployment rate remains unchanged in October, according to Iowa Workforce Development.
The state’s unemployment rate was reported at 6.7 percent for the month, the same rate as September and up from 6.5 percent one year ago.
The statewide estimate of unemployed people decreased by 400 people from September to October.
The number of working Iowans rose by 100 in the month, but was 6,100 less than a year ago. Total nonfarm employment increased by 8,100 in October and is 9,900 above last year’s level.
