United Way Day of Action planned for Tuesday
On Sept. 15, United Way of Central Iowa will host the annual United Way Day of Action. Nearly 3,000 corporate volunteers will work on projects benefiting 29 area nonprofit organizations. Volunteers will donate 8,063 hours in a single day, working on one of three signature projects, or they may select from variety of projects that benefit Central Iowa nonprofits. The signature projects will benefit Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity, Des Moines Public Schools, and West Des Moines and Urbandale elementary schools.
