United’s Hemispheres magazine features Iowa
United Airlines’ magazine, Hemispheres, is featuring Iowa business and innovation in its April edition.
The special supplement includes a snapshot of Iowa industries, with a nod to sharp growth in exports. A feature on Gov. Terry Branstad appears under the headline “The Influencer” and emphasizes positive data including the state’s low unemployment rate.
A feature on “The Innovators” includes quotes from Iowa State University President Steven Leath, DuPont Pioneer President Paul Schickler, and Mary Andringa, CEO and board chairwoman of Vermeer Corp.
A story on the state’s gains in biosciences, advanced manufacturing and energy begins, “It’s long been known for corn and its caucuses, but Iowa has also proven fertile ground for a much wider range of industries.”
The piece also notes Drake University’s planned STEM campus.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the state’s business diversity and key attractions,” said Debi Durham, director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority. “The exposure that Iowa’s business climate will receive because of this extensive editorial coverage is priceless, and we’re proud to have our state featured in this month’s edition.”
