The UnityPoint Health-Des Moines Nurse Residency Program has achieved accreditation with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Practice Transition Accreditation Program. Currently, UnityPoint Health-Des Moines has the only ANCC PTAP-accredited nurse residency program in Iowa. “Receiving this accreditation demonstrates our commitment to high-quality patient care and our value of the nursing profession,” said Deb Moyer, chief nursing executive and vice president of nursing services for UnityPoint Health-Des Moines. “This program enables our nurses to transition into clinical care and provide exceptional care of all of our patients.” The residency program works with 80 to 120 nurses each year. In 2018, 104 nurses graduated from the program.
