A U.S. News & World Report ranking of the top pediatric specialties places the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital among the nation’s 50 best centers — but the pediatric hospital is down from top rankings in 2017, 2016 and 2015, the Cedar Rapids Gazette reports. In a statement, interim Executive Director Amy O’Deen said that the hospital will examine declines “to see what we can learn,” but added that the campus was proud of continued national recognition. “Being recognized, once again, as one of our nation’s best children’s hospitals highlights the quality of our services across a comprehensive array of specialties and commitment to the well-being of children and their families,” O’Deen said.
